What was the beginning pint for your music career? How did it all start?

Heathen Hearts was formed in 2021. In 2020 our second guitarist Lauri, was gathering guys to play a Turbonegro cover gig in a local turbojugend fanclub party with this lineup. But because of Covid that didn’t happen. It was our drummer Ville who later  suggested that maybe we could start playing metallic hardcore and here we are.

Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?

Nothing big really. We all have played in different bands for a long time so we have the experience in making music. Things have gone pretty smoothly so far. The biggest challenge and a learning curve for us all has been to do everything by ourselves. Financial stuff, scheduling and planning, etc.

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?

I think the release of our debut EP and two music videos and the awesome feedback we have gotten from them. And of course the first gig we did. It was a blast with a packed venue.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Aggressive yet melodic metallic hardcore

What is your creative process like?

Usually our guitarists Jere or Lauri have a riff or song on a demo stage. Then we arrange the song together in the rehearsal room and finally our vocalist Antti writes the lyrics.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Maybe more possibilities for upcoming bands to perform live.

If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?

Practice, practice and practice together as a band. If you want to be serious about your career then you have to invest time and also money (if you are a DIY band) to do things as professionally as possible. Work with people who can help with your career.

What has been the best performance of your career so far?

Most memorable has been the first gig with a packed venue and mosh pits going most of the gig. It was pretty sweet.

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?

Well, I guess some other form of art. At this point none of us make living out of music so we have day jobs.

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?

We just played our last gig of 2022 and now we are concentrating on recording new stuff. Planned release is sometime early 2023.

Thanks for having us in this interview. We would like to send a message that support your favourite upcoming bands! Your support can make all the difference!
