MARK FARNER’S ‘CLOSER TO MY HOME’ IS OUT NOW!
Legendary guitarist and singer/songwriterMark Farner’s long-awaited new album, Closer to My Home, is available now! Bridging the gap between the past and present, this album captures the grit and determination of a man shaped by a hard-working, rural life. It celebrates Farner’s multi-faceted artistry while honoring the 55th anniversary of his iconic hit “(I’m Your Captain) Closer to My Home,” with a re-recording that finds Farner sounding just as powerful as he did in 1970.
From the rebellious Anymore to the heartfelt Oh Darlin’ and the defiant Same Game, Farner’s journey as one of rock’s statesmen is undeniable. Tracks like Façade, Friends For Forever, Real, and Tiny Fingers are a testament to Farner’s lifelong pursuit of love, light, and authentic expression. The album also includes collaborations with music legends Jim Peterik (The Ides of March, Survivor) on the CD-exclusive track Friends Forever, and Mark Slaughter on Same Game. The album is produced by Slaughter with Farner serving as co-producer.
The lead single “Real” brings vintage Farner vibes with an earworm chorus, capturing his signature style and powerful vocals.
Farner explains, “These songs are honest and from my heart. The collaboration with Jim and Mark came from a place of trust, and that makes the whole experience more rewarding as songwriters. The audience can feel that. These songs reflect very human moments that you can’t find creating a song from a computer.”
