Texas Power Thrashers RUNESCARRED Premiere Debut Music Video “This Is Mine” Via Decibel

Decibel has premiered the debut music video from Austin-based progressive metal quartet RUNESCARRED, featuring former members of Texas legends Dead Earth Politics.

Releasing their debut EP, We Are, independently June 29, RUNESCARRED is ready to make a name for themselves. Fusing groove with scaling, piercing, riffs and destructive growls with soaring vocals, the power thrashers embrace the dark realities of humanity and plant their foot in the throat of Adversity.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by James Gelber in vocalist Ven Scott’s home, We Are is their fifteen-minute introduction to what lies ahead. The video for “This Is Mine” features a performance piece shot in the historic Lantex Theater in Llano, Texas. Built in the 1920s, the theater has seen hundreds of performances, films, live music and once served as a church.

Says Decibel, “Rising from the ashes of Dead Earth Politics, one of Texas’ best-kept secrets, comes Runescarred. Charging forward with a sense of heavy metal swagger, the quartet are the full package: soaring, progressive melodies; galloping riffs; a singer who can actually sing and all-around tight musicianship.”

“It was important to me that the first video introduce us honestly,” says vocalist Ven Scott. “Performing on a stage and a larger-than-life manner but also being very open about our process and how we DIY everything from recording to anything else. I think this video is a perfect representation of our intentional dichotomy; master metalsmiths on stage and idiots in real life!”
