Fernando Arteaga González was born in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz, Spain). Since childhood, influenced by his relatives, he began to feel passion and interest for music. When he was a kid he studied musical language and piano, and some time after he chose to start playing guitar with guitarist Juan Fernandez of 40 Promesas. His family left a mark on him for music tastes, when he started to listen to bands such as ACDC, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, The Jayhawks, REM, Jimi Hendrix and many more.

In his teenage years, he created some of his firsts bands and gigs alongside the country, playing in festivals such as Monkey Week 2012 (El Puerto de Santa Maria). In 2013 his first studio album was released and later that year, in December, he moved to Santiago de Chile (Chile) due to the economic crisis of the moment.

After many attempts of assembling a band, at the end of 2015 he finally joined Luis (vocal) to create Hollow Humanity band, by releasing together one LP, one EP, one Split and 3 Singles, as well as four video clips. During his 4 years of activity in the band, they played in countries like Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and Czech Republic. In 2018, their album, “Hives & Trophies”, was nominated to “Best Modern Metal disc of the year” by the Premios Escuchar awards (Chile); meanwhile his belonging to Hollow Humanity band, he also took part in the band called Asunto, where he was a member until the split of the band.

In February 2020, Fernando Arteaga announced his leave out of the band due to the difficulties of playing, as he was living in San Sebastián at that moment.

After an inspiring evening in 2015, absorbing the sonic vibes of their mutual favourite metal bands, two friends Jan and Gunnar decided to claim their periphery and the diverging melodic death doom band Fragmentum emerged.

Connected in previous metal projects Mental Shadow, Octahedron and Bellator they now fully represent Fragmentum, a musical, graphical and philosophical synergy.

The alliance of musical creativity resulted in the adamant but sincere EP D!VERGE.

Working as hell on new songs and enforcing the band with new members for live playing resulted in their debut album PUGNACITY. This full album was released worldwide shortly after touring with Children of Bodom in US and has been received with rave response and reviews from the metal industry and fans.

Subsequently Fragmentum shared the stage with Soulfly on their European tour and played more venues with mayor bands like Annihilator.

The second full album MASTERS OF PERPLEXITY containing blasting diverging Maya theme metal songs is released upon all metal-heads on April 16 2021. Recording, mixing and mastering have been done in their own studio Z-Underground.

A cool intriguing video clip of the Origination Of Mankind song was spread on all social media on March 26th 2021.

The band is now preparing to bring the album live in cooperation with Total Metal Concerts & Booking. Upcoming shows will be announced via the website and social media channels.
