Thrash/hardcore collective WAR ORPHAN has released their awaited sophomore album, Unite, today with Stay Gold Records. On their follow up to 2021’s critically praised Bonkers In Yonkers, the band turns their rage into positivity and personal growth for a lyrically inspiring record that maintains every ounce of sonic aggression and attitude of its predecessor.

Commenting on the record, WAR ORPHAN states:

“‘Unite’ is something we say when we want to get all the guys on the phone together. We’re spread out across New York and LA on of us will text ‘Unite’ and we’ll all hop on a call and catch up. We usually just try to crack each other up for a few minutes then go back to whatever we’re doing but every time I see that text come in I smile because I know I’ll be laughing within minutes. The other great part about the title is that this record is meant to be uplifting and positive. Our first record which was strictly social commentary, this one is meant to unite us all. The record carries a message that will hopefully lift up the listener and motivate them to go do something great.”

About WAR ORPHAN:

WAR ORPHAN made their debut in 2020 with a seething thrash punk EP Closer To Death Than Life. Their initial offering was a fearless protest record that delivered a much needed shot of angst into the hardcore scene and swift throat-punch to rightwing extremists during the volatile and tumultuous Trump presidency. Bason summoned the furious rage that people across the country felt during the time, channeling it into songs about systematic racism (“Autonomous Zone”) and a deceitful president (“Prop Up The Polls”) among other topics. The EP led to the band’s 2021 debut full-length album Bonkers in Yonkers.

On their first full length outing WAR ORPHAN was playlisted on Spotify’s Political Punk, Noisy, All New Punk, The Punk List among others, was covered by numerous media outlets and garnered a strong reaction from fans around the world. The record was a terse reaction to the political tension of the times in which it was recorded.

Now, after waging a scathing socio-political battle, WAR ORPHAN returns with their follow up Unite, a record that finds the band settled into a groove that reflects the positive mindset of their members with standout tracks like “Perpetual Motion,” “YDI (You Do It)” and “Heavy Weighs The Crown.”

WAR ORPHAN Lineup:
David Bason (Barfbag) – Vocals
Richie Cipriano (ex-Sick of It All) – Guitar
Dante Renzi (Ouijipig) – Drums
Danny Martinez (Reach) – Bass
