Revolt! Bullet, Against Evil
Venue: Bambi galore Hamburg
Date: August 22nd, 2019
One week earlier, it was relatively quiet in the Bambi galore. An acoustic set with cover versions by Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. It should be different this Thursday. Both the Swedes Bullet and Against Evil from India stand for straightforward Heavy Metal, hard and uncompromising. The pictures of the evening can be seen on Flickr.
Against Evil are now the second Indian metal band that I can experience live within a few weeks. The band was founded in 2014. After the 2015 EP “Fatal Assault” the debut album “All Hail The King” was released in April of last year. And after the song “Sentenced To Death”, the Indians have also named their current tour. After all, Against Evil could win the exceptional guitarist Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Arch Enemy) for a guest appearance on this song. So, seven songs of the debut were on the setlist of the evening. A concise forty-five minutes celebrated the band genuine classic heavy metal. Again, and again, both guitarists were brilliant with great solos.
Setlist:
- The Army Of Four
- All Hail The King
- Stand Up And Fight!
- The Enemy Within
- Sentenced To Death
- Mean Machine
- Gods Of Metal
- War Hero
- We Won’t Stop
Bullet also released an album last April. For the Swedes, however, “Dust To Gold” was already the sixth studio album. After all, Bullet exist since the year 2001. Also, Bullet play Heavy Metal, enriched with 80s hard rock. Oldschool was then also the “backdrop” of the band, the lettering Bullet, “written” with incandescent lamps. With three songs of the current album they fired up the fans right at the beginning. Two more followed later. The other songs of the evening were a Best of from the 18 years band history. Also, a cover was on the program, with “Dr. Phibes” by Angel Witch. The voice of singer Dag Hell Hofer is unique. It sounds like the vocal cords are constantly beating together. With this he impresses the songs of Bullet on his own stamp. And something else was unique about the show. After only six songs the band left the stage for the first time. The same thing happened again shortly before the end. I have not experienced such a show yet. With the well-known hit “Bite The Bullet” the Swedes said goodbye.
Setlist:
- Speed And Attack
- Ain’t Enough
- Rogue Soldier
- Riding High

- Rolling Home

The Bambi galore was packed. At the box office there were only a few remaining tickets. So, I suspect that the location was sold out this evening. Two bands that uphold the flag of heavy metal, created a huge mood among the fans.
