Stories Of Times Forgotten

New Power Metal from Sweden. The band was founded in 2020. The debut EP “Stories Of Times Forgotten” was released one year ago on the label Stormspell Records. In the meantime, a contract with Sliptrick Records could be landed. And the EP will be released worldwide. Lars Ramcke (Stormwarrior) and Piet Sielck (Iron Savior) were hired for mixing and mastering. So, a guarantor for fat sound.
Already the opener “Into The Storm” shows the way. The Swedes were obviously inspired by genre greats like Rhapsody of Fire, Helloween or Blind Guardian. Power Metal in high-speed mode. Fast guitar riffs and a drummer who almost maltreats his instrument. Even “Yggdrasil” is not a bit quieter. A real neck-breaker. “Fireborn” starts with a loud bang. Very rhythmic, but calm is something else. Also on the last two songs, “Moonblade” and “Times Forgotten”, Krilloan go a fast pace. And demand everything from themselves and the listener. Especially the latter is again a par force ride. It would be interesting to see if they can keep it up live and for a longer time.
This could go on for hours. Krilloan are an amazing new band for me. You don’t often find such power, such uncompromising heaviness and speed, such joy in playing. The rhythm section creates a sweaty atmosphere. The whole thing is crowned by the outstanding vocal performance of Alex VanTrue.
