L. A. Project
Electric Life
Out: July 24th, 2023
Playing time: 20:35
Contrary to what the name suggests, L. A. Project do not come from the City of Angels but are obviously international. The band’s founder Luís Amaro lives in Portugal. L. A. Project were founded in 2020 and two digital singles have been released so far. In April 2022, the first EP “5 Dimensions” was released. And in July, the project will follow up with “Electric Life”. The collaborators on this EP are Lukky Sparxx (Exxocet), Rich Gray (Annihilator) and Fabio Alessandrini (Bonfire, Annihilator).
The opener “Carry On” rocks straight forward from the beginning. Finest Melodic Midtempo Rock in the style of the eighties, with a first filigree guitar solo. “Came Alive” then goes one better. Right at the beginning, ingenious guitar work can be heard. And Lukky Sparxx’s vocals are the icing on the cake. A video clip was also recorded for the rhythmic “Someone Else”. Here the double bass is driving, but without trying to break speed records. Also “Many Times” is Melodic Hard Rock, again in the midtempo range. The title of the last track, “Full Electric”, is based on the EP title. An instrumental with High-Speed Rock. Here, mastermind Luís Amaro can once again show all his skills.
“Electric Life” offers top class Melodic Hard Rock. It’s really fun to listen to the EP. The only downer is that unfortunately it ends after twenty and a half minutes. After two EPs in the last two years, it would be nice to have a full-length album.
