Cult of Lilith was formed in 2015 in Reykjavik, Iceland. The band is raw and brutal yet with beautiful melodies that conquered the soil of Iceland. Now with a complete line up with a multi genre inspiration they have created something unique, with cohesive themes, which blends all elements together.
They are set to conquer the world with their debut full length album which is scheduled for a release on September 4 “Mara”. The album is crafted so beautiful, the power of the music and the depth and darkness of the album will take it to a new level. It was a cool thing to Interview the Front man and Vocalist of the band Mario. So humble and soft is his nature, but when he sings wow, man he is amazing, lets hear from the amazing gentleman.

Mara is scheduled to be released on September 4th, can you tell me the songwriting and production behind it?
Oh Yeah, The instrumental part was all done when I joined the band, the vocal and lyric part took a very long time, we were able to do the recording only in the weekend.We want to release everything perfect and when we finished the album and we sent it to mix and that’s how Mara is there.
Being the first full length of the album, how do you feel about it?
It’s so good, honestly we are getting lot of good reviews and feedback and its amazing its our first album that is getting all the good vibes from around. We are very proud of it. We are very happy and we know it’s a good album.
Is Mara focused on any particular theme or concept?
Yes Mara the title of the album is a demon from the middle ages, it sits on the chest of people while they sleep, we thought this would be kind a cool as we are the Cult of Lilith and there is a lot of connection and every song is connected somewhere.
Yesterday you released your second single “Purple Tide” can you tell me a bit about this song?
The video is something particular and it was amazing, Every song is different but this song is one of my favorite also the lyrics are more meaningful to me I wrote this song when I was in Spain.
Can you tell me how it all started for you guys?
Daniel started the band a few years ago, he was looking for different people in the band, in 2018 the vocalist left the band and they contacted me at that time I moved to Iceland, so they called me right away and we started working on the album. We had a few gigs but mostly we were working on the album.
What would be the next plans for the band?
Here in Iceland it’s not that bad, when Covid came for the first time it was like 12 cases, Iceland is pretty mild, now slowly opening for tourism, things are coming back normal. So right now we are focusing on album promotions, shooting videos, so lets see how it comes.
Talking about the album cover, can you tell me the idea set on it?
Sure, we are super happy with the album cover, It was done by Eliran Kantor We just gave him the concept and he made it, we were very happy with the cover portrait.
What would you like to tell your fans?
The times are very bad this time around, its weird around the world with this pandemic. This is a cool death metal album, give a chance to listen, I really hope they would like it.
