THE SONIC OVERLORDS were founded in 2017 by Swedish rock guitarist Morgan Zocek. He began jamming with various musicians and writing songs inspired by classic hard rock of the late 1970s and early 1980s, but with a more modern approach to the production and sonics. The full sound of THE SONIC OVERLORDS began to solidify with the addition of Per Soläng on drums in 2018. This was followed by the addition in 2020 of vocalist Marcus Zachrisson Rubin, who had been playing with Zocek in an Ozzy Osbourne cover band for many years, and the rumbles of new bassist Daniel Ramírez.

Last Days Of Babylon is the debut from the melodic hard rock “The Sonic Overlords” even though this is the debut for the band, they are storming the world with amazing music since its inception in 2017.

The Opening “Utopia” is massive song, with amazing riffs, and the melodies of the Classic Rock of the 80’s takes the album to a new level.

In My Darkest Room, is an amazing song from the album, quite catchy with the blend of Classic Martin/Dio era sound of Black Sabbath gets into your mind. The sound of doom and the vocals and musical progression makes it amazing in its very own way.

Lords Of Tomorrow is yet another great sound of doom that goes into this album, its quite amazing with the vocals.

World On Fire, a melodic, beautifully done, slow guitar, the vocals makes it a beautiful one to listen to, The slowness from the beginning and the powerful tempo it takes to is quite amazing.

Sands Of Time, Shine and Children of the night, are great songs and amazing progression laid into it.

Eternal Heroes (Last Days Of Babylon) is powerful, Melodic, great musical progression with a blend of Power metal. It’s diverse in music makes it sound quite amazing.

The Final track of the album “Past The End Of Time” features none other than the amazing Tony Martin himself, the opening riff is massive, its clearly taking to the Black Sabbath “Tony Martin” times, a beautifully done song.

Overall this is an amazing album, Each song perfectly selected and crafted into perfection, A perfect classic Melodic rock with a blend of doom and power added to it makes it simply amazing.

Songwriting is simply amazing and musical progression of this album is quite notable and makes it simply one of the best to go for 2021.

To say it simpler, This is the sound of modern day Black Sabbath.
