HIDDEN BANDS Launches Custom Music Discovery Challenge with Nettwerk Records and DC Shoes!

New partnership model gives record labels a more engaging way to release new music from artists and reward superfans with exclusive content and prizes.

Today, Hidden Bands (formerly Hipster Bait) launches its “Skate or Dye Challenge” in partnership with Nettwerk Records and recording artist Together Pangea. It’s a limited-time, in-game scavenger hunt where players head out into the real world to track down and capture unreleased music using augmented reality and location-based technology. Watch the app trailer and download the app.

The challenge gamifies the release of Together Pangea’s new album “Dye” out October 22nd by pre-releasing three exclusive singles into the first-of-its-kind Hidden Bands app. The limited edition “Skate Or Dye” cassettes look like all of the others in the game until you capture one. After capture, their appearance changes to reveal them as part of the challenge. The first 5 players who find and rehide all 3 Together Pangea singles via the app prior to Oct 22 will win a FREE pair of DC Shoes. The event begins October 1st and ends on October 22nd.

This new partnership model gives record labels a more engaging way to release new music from artists and reward superfans with exclusive content.
